Comments Thread For: Dimitrenko Beats Sprott To Retain Euro Heavyweight Belt

Hamburg, Germany - European [EBU] heavyweight champion Alexander Dimitrenko (32-1, 21 KOs) retained his title with a twelve round unanimous decision over British veteran Michael Sprott (36-17, 17 KOs) at the Dima Sport Center. Dimitrenko used his long arms and his 6'7 frame to control the distance for much of the action. Sprott was penalized for roughhouse tactics in the tenth and twelfth rounds. The scores were 119-108, 117-111 and 116-111.

It was a most unimpressive performance. Dimitrenko needs serious work but at this stage it is too late for him to get significantly better. He just isn't top heavyweight material.

What a horrible performance by a fighter who I had very high hopes for just a few years ago. Dimitrenko hasn't been the same since Chambers mopped the floor with him, too bad he never recovered from that.

        WTF is up with germany!?!?

Sprott gets a point deducted for pushing down, yet the klits never get a single warning much less a point deduction for doing the exact same thing

Anyways dimitrenko won. but 119-108?! gimme a break

Dimitrenko is a KO waiting to happen.

Chambers ruined him and took his soul.

I think the problem is that he never truly improved much from his early days. This was almost a re-run of his fight against Danny Batchelder a few years back, not including the stoppage.

I thought that he was improving quite a bit after he knocked out Hoffman and Krasniqi, but then Chambers came along and broke Dimitrenko down. All this non-stop complaining to the ref, he always had it but this fight was something awful.

Wlad received a point deduction in his last fight for pushing Haye down.

What Sprott did to Dimitrenko in the 12th round was much worse and clearly deserved the point taken off - he literally THREW Dimitrenko down.

Dimitrenko is garbage i said it for years man! He has no Heart! NONE!
Bigger than klitschkos but cant fight tall at all!
I knew sprott would give him a good fight cause i view him to be better than sosnowski who is a badly limited fighter!
I hope helenius gets dimitrenko in the ring and the rest will be history!

That fight looked like a routine sparring session.
