The cut itself may heal in 5 weeks but the problem is it will leave soft fresh scar tissue that is very easy to open up again. Not only do you need the cut to heal you need the scar tissue to thicken, this takes time. Anybody who has boxed knows this.

Cut is in a bad spot for Ward, one headbutt and blood starts gushing.
Forget about Froch aiming for the injury, which he would. Ward knows with his style he would be at a disadvantage. Froch fans shouldn't be complaining they should want Ward to be at his best so that Carl gets all the credit if he wins.
