It wasn't a dirty shot. It was within the rules and he taught a punk - and future opponents - that he isn't to be toyed with. Pull the dragon's tail, and see what happens.
Floyd grew up in Michigan gyms fighting bigger guys, and people somehow think he is some punk that you can do whatever to. Guess what?
Floyd took what Mexican Victor Ortiz dished out. Mexican Victor Ortiz could not take what Floyd dished out.
Notice that ALL of the old-school guys are backing Floyd. Only the emo b!tches and pacquiao fans (redundant) are crying a week later.

"Floyd ain't do nothing wrong. The only thing he did wrong was, I would've led with the right hand...You don't headbutt another fighter, dog. Victor Ortiz...it was a bad day to be a Mexican. Floyd did exactly what he was supposed to do...Floyd showed class though and dapped him off and hugged him. Then he gave him a 2-piece combo with a side of Nyquil
. He wanted out of that fight...Ortiz broke the code...I loved it. I just gotta teach Floyd to slap the mic out of they hand," stated future Hall of Famer James "Lights Out" Toney, who shared his thoughts on Floyd Mayweather's 4th round knockout of Victor Ortiz and the argument that ensued with Larry Merchant after the fight. You don't want to miss what else he had to say.

Same tired argument.
The best in every major sport are *****.
The best in every major sport for decades have been *****.
The best in boxing for the last 100 years are *****.
What do you expect? When people are struggling for recognition in a sport this is what happens.
Its called "DESPERATION".
Everything Floyd does will be critiqued. From his wins to his interviews to his choice of opponents.
He just fought the WBC WW champion of the world ... a man who is 10 years younger than him and was naturally bigger than him.
You say he's green? Was Kelly Pavlik green when he beat Taylor? Was he still green when he got embarrassed by a 40 year old Hopkins?
Ignorant so-called fans are full of double standards, and apparently they are so envious that boxing's MVP is someone with which they cannot relate to.
How did this debate quickly become about Blacks? And how do sweeping general statements beginning with "all Blacks" have any merit?
Some of you wouldn't like it if someone said that every White fighter is a great White hope, which would be true. But you still wouldn't like it because it implies that all White boxers have a snowball's shot in hell of ever reigning in anything but a dead, talentless division .. and even then they wait until 99% of anyone that even has a name that resembles talent before coming out of whatever corner of the world that they hide in and pad their records.
Some of you wouldn't like it if I said that Latino boxers only worth is beating the hell out of each other and taking beatings. You wouldn't like it if I pointed out that only a handful could actually box and the rest were simply men willing to slug it out in hopes that a blood bath would entertain in place of skills.
Haters will hate. Its what they do.
No one tries to take credit from guys like Donaire, Marquez or Darchinyan. Those guys are legit. No one felt the need to belittle what they accomplish because a great boxer is a great boxer. Those guys earn every single bit of credit that they get.
Have you ever seen Blacks, Whites or Latinos hate on them? No? Its because they are excellent boxers, and real fight fans love to watch excellent boxers. No one feels threatened because these guys are exceptional.
When the debate about Floyd being the most exceptional comes up due to his wins over the top boxers in the world, many, many people feel threatened and have an overwhelming desire to hate and insult him. This has NOTHING to do with his "Money May" persona either. It has all to do with him being a ****y Black fighter. People hated Jack Johnson for it. People hated Ali for it. People hated Tyson for it. Now people hate Mayweather for it.
It almost like fans think that they get to decide who should have money and fame. Its pure jealousy. How many times have haters found themselves watching a boxing match saying out loud "This assshole doesn't deserve money or to be on television"? They think that they get to decide what's what, but they are nothing and nobody.
They want Floyd to be a quiet, humble little mouse like Joe Louis. They want him to wave a little flag like George Foreman.
No matter that boxers like Max Baer and Jake Lamotta used to flaunt their wealth and shoot off their mouth even worse than Floyd.
If you don't like Floyd, then don't like him. No one asks anyone to like Floyd. I don't know him. You all probably will never know him. None of us know the man to like or dislike the man.
However, denying that he is the best boxer since Roy Jones is just a case of scratching that itch where your integrity used to be. To admit that Floyd has done more against better opposition is like taking a loss that some people ... yeah, some people just aren't willing to take.
Even though most boxers will admit that Mayweather is the best and has done the most, some fans see his achievements as a threat. They don't see Mayweather as a threat. They see yet another Black boxer being hailed as the best as a threat.
Numbers don't lie people.
When Mayweather's supposed closest competitor didn't step up his career until his 41st fight and only has 57 fights, the story is crystal clear in the numbers.
When James Toney, a former champion, a former P4P#1, a HOF and an ATG tells the media that Mayweather was well within his rights to handle Ortiz in the manner in which he did, haters STILL hold on to the envy and jealousy in their hearts and wind up insulting Toney.
I wonder if Pacquiao gave Mayweather credit for his many accomplishments would *******s then say that Manny is crazy and deranged?
They're just ****** enough to do it.
