why do some boxers refer to themselves by their full name??

I've heard Khan say it a few times, floyd and cotto.

Example: instead of Khan saying, "if they want to fight me, they can"

he may say "if they want to fight Amir Khan, they can"

Is this like a marketting thing, where you market your name as much as possible??

Anyone else notice this and have any opinions?

Mayweather does it a lot but I'm not sure if it always means a big ego, some fighters might not mean it like that.

Mannie phresh can respect j dempseys question. Mannie phresh feels that when an athlete reaches a certain level of greatness that they have no choice not to refer to themselves in the 3rd person. Mannie phresh also suggests that you watch the "jimmy' episode of sienfeld.
