Roy Jones avoided a lot of fighters. He was #1 contender for Nigel Benn and Julian Jackson early in 1993, he didn't fight either of them. Steve Collins was Jones Jr's #1 contender in 1993/94, he didn't fight him. Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn were the longest-reigning super-middleweight champions, yet Jones Jr fought neither of them. He didn't fight Frankie Liles or Stevie Collins at super-middle either, or Michael Nunn. He didn't fight Henry Maske, Graciano Rocchigiani, Michael Nunn, Fabrice Tiozzo or Dariusz Michalczewski at light-heavyweight. ALL of these fighters were calling out Jones Jr and wanted to fight him, add Joe Calzaghe and Jirov too.

Julian Jackson and Frankie Liles would of been reduced to only punchers chances against Jones Jr, and the middleweight version of Collins would of been out of his depth and easily outpointed. But Gerald McClellan and Lamar Parks would of been very tough opponents for Jones Jr at middleweight, infact McClellan would of probably got him out of there in two rounds. Chris Eubank could of caused Jones alsorts of problems at any point in the 90's, even 1999. The Benn that fought McClellan would of had a heck of a chance against Jones Jr.

So I have no real proof if he was ducking people or not...

I hear from lot of people he has been, and heard the opposite from many..

I'd like to hear from some UNBIASED people...

Your info has to be credible too...

I realised lately I've been very close minded, and feel better being open, so here's your chance...

Has Roy ducked man fighters? Or has he not?
The real truth is Roy could have fought alot better competion than he actually did. Julian Jackson, Nigel Benn, Gerald McClellan at Middleweight Vasilly Jirov was there for him when he was at Lightheavy, Lennox Lewis was at Heavyweight, but he chose John Ruiz.

The DM fight not coming off was a product of both there ego's. DM didn't want to come here and Roy didn't want to go there.

Yes he could have fought better competion.

Maske, Rocchigiani and Nunn were all 6'3" southpaws, so it wouldn't exactly of been a walk in the park if Jones Jr had fought any of those three.

This is what I exactly always had in mind..

                      Ruiz wasn't the real champ...

I honestly think RJJ was overrated...

He could've somewhat made me think opposite but he just ****ed up in Tarver rubbermatch.
