who made boxing ultra corrupt and unpopular and controversial and de****able and boring? Don King. you cant lay the blame on anybody for the state of boxing except on Don The Con.
whatever. how about everyone that let it happen?

Bob Arum is as guilty as anybody of boxing corruption. corruption in boxing started way before Don King showed up. He was just the first to get attention because of it.

Or I guess it wasn't corrupt to make black guys fight white guys while the black guys had their hands cuffed behind their backs. Or it wasn't corrupt when they used to screw with the weight scales. Or how Jack Johnson was made to carry guys several more rounds that he could've easily put out in one round.

No, Don King started boxing corruption.

dont you find it mildly ironic that all these horrid decisions have appeared by the hordes since, oh say, for the past 30 years? and how long has King been around? say maybe, the past 30 years?

yes, there was corruption before king. but king made corruption synonymous (however you spell it) with boxing.

Don't get me wrong, King is corrupt, corrupt as hell. I don't disagree there.

What I hate is that King takes all the blame when he is not at all the only one guilty of boxing corruption. He's guilty, but he couldn't be if lawyers, the sanctioning bodies, referees, and judges all weren't corrupt too. They don't HAVE to take money from these crooked promoters. They CAN say no. It does happen sometimes.

Thing is though, King has never been proven to be corrupt. He's never been caught, never admitted it. Every other major promoter has admitted to corruption, including Cedric Kushner, Dino Duva, and BOB ARUM. That's right. Arum admitted to paying off the IBF to rank Foreman, as you can often read on this very site on the front page (where they have the boxing quote).

Check out Ringtalk.com and read Pedro Fernandez's Operation Yory Boy articles if you want to see some grade A corruption on Arum's part. Not only was Arum in on screwing Yory Boy Campus over, but so was Yory Boy's own manager.

Also Fernandez did an article exposing Arum for a match between Joey Torres and some guy, which reads really similarly to DLH-Hopkins.

im always afraid to make that step up in boxing cause of all the corruption i dont wanna get money stolen that i deserved from promoters.u know some promoters get more then the fighter thats not right at all. but i would go with golden boy promotions cause there fighters also so they know how it is(not saying they will be completly fair though but alot fairer then the other 2 big 1s)
