above you should note that the thread started out as a "how would htey have done against the Great White hopes of the past thread" I never asked if they would take over the division now. It just so happened to have turned into another war. So how do you think they would have done against the others?Comment

Tommy Morrison loses to both
Gerry Cooney 50/50 chance to KO Wlad
Randall "Tex" Cobb great fight vs both MD coin flip vs Vitali loses to Vlad
Oscar Bonovena He aint white. I think he beats them both
Gerry Quarry same as CooneyComment

klitschko's would beat all names mentioned here. although bonavena might not be the easyiest fight. i've seen a few of his fights, and if i'm remembering the same guy, he was pretty slick. he was whooping on frazier in the first fight for the first few rounds and i believe he knocked frazier down once or twice. as i remember(i've seen this fight about 3 years ago), he damn near KO'd frazier and seemed to have very good boxing skills. after round 5 or so, he self destructed.
and oscar bonavena was argentinian, not white.Comment

Morrison and Quarry both had trouble with technically sound fighters, and Quarry didn't hit that hard, or train that hard for that matter. Bonavena was a tough guy, but he was short and pretty light to face either of the klits with his style, not to mention he was out of it after a hook by Ali, a hook! Tex Cobb was a very tough guy, but could barely fight and was a punching bag for the most part. Either of the Klits would beat him by TKO or decision as long as they didn't gas out. IMO, Cooney would have the best chance hands down. He was pretty sound technically, tall, had good power, and had a pretty good chin as well as being a very tough customer. IMO it would be a good fight with either of them probably going the distance since the 13th round no longer exists. Could go either way IMO.Comment

....Hmmmmm, Vitali has never been knocked down in his career but yet he panics and doesn't know what to do when hit? Interesting. Sounds like he should get knocked down alot then. Something just doesn't quite make sense here.Comment

never seen vk panic. i've seen all fighters get in a circumstance to where the untrained eye, it looks like a fighter has been hit good or is panicking, but it was usually nothing more than getting out of the way of a flurry of punches.
things like this also happen when an opponent throws a forcefull punch at his opponent, and it gets blocked or partially blocked, and the crowd goes carzy because they mostly notice the sound of it connecting against the fighters glove - which is a block but sounds like a booming punch has landed.Last edited by j; 10-25-2005, 12:31 PM.Comment
