Comments Thread For: Jorge Arce is Looking To Rewrite History - Again

By Jake Donovan - A young titlist seeks out a faded former top fighter in order to further his own career, if not necessarily his credentials. The plan miserably backfires when the old veteran reaches back and finds a way to win just one last time.

Jorge Arce had the unique experience of landing on both sides of that equation. Twelve years after blowing a huge lead to instead become the final conquered foe in the Hall of Fame career of Michael Carbajal, the faded Mexican legend enjoyed a huge late surge to stop undefeated rising star Wilfredo Vazquez Jr in the final round of their super bantamweight bout this past May.

The performance was an indication that he learned from past history, using his own experiences to his advantage in resurrecting his career.

Now, the three-division titlist (interim belts need not apply) looks to rewrite history and reverse a few past losses before eventually calling it a career. [Click Here To Read More]

Good article. Nice read. Arce's colorful and wild career has had some ups and downs. Now I recall as I read this. I thought of him as a shot fighter, but after reading this and rethinking, yeah, maybe we can give him a go. He has good reasons to fight on. Viva Arce! Vamos Arce!

Great article. I read up on Jorge Arce's boxrec and most of the fighters who beat him were champions and sometimes 2 or 3 time division champions as well.

Jorge Arce wins against the best and losses to them too.

I was just wondering when he was fighting next. It's always a good fight if Arce is in the ring.

Arce could become a HOF in the future. Great career.

My only memories of Arce are in defeat, stopped by a flat Carbajal, schooled by Mijares and brutalised by Darchinyan.

What should I watch that paints him in a better light?
