  • Very surprised (Ortiz vs Mayweather)

im very surprised that a lot of folks on here are playing down victors actions. I like the kid but he could have injured floyd with that blatant headbutt. I thought it was severe enough for an automatic DQ.

I am wondering what choice floyd had when his lip was bleeding and the ref said fight ...what is he suppose to do wait for victory to hit him first?

As for the fight i was left feeling unsatisfied and robbed by both fighters as this fight was interesting...

i must admit i was angry at floyd but after seeing the replay i was left wondering what choice did he have given his state of anger after being blatantly fouled?

    just my thoughts.....

I place the blame largely on Ortiz, not for the headbutt, because that was dealt with by the ref but for being so naive and wanting to kiss and hug Floyd all the time.

Floyd is not blameless though, if he would have come straight out and threw punches you can say, fair enough he just wanted to get on with the fight.

But he ushered Ortiz in to touch gloves put his arms around him then when Ortiz steps back he clocks him.

That being deceitful, unsporting and lacks class and robbed the fans of a fight.

The Ortiz headbutt was a disgrace, but that and the response after it show how mentally fragile the kid is.

Victor was happy enough though, never seen anyone so happy with being knocked out before.

People hate Floyd so much, that it really doesn't matter what he does, they'll ride his ass for it.

On the flip side, Ortiz gets a pass, because Manny Pacquiao **** riders love to hate Floyd.

Ortiz's actions were worse than Floyd's. He had it coming, and I'm glad it happened.

Only the *******s agree with the headbutt which is no suprise because they support a fighter who tries to give himself the edge through banned suBstance use

        TAKE THE TEST

that's because if you've been watching boxing for any length of time, you know headbutts, rabbit punches, punches in the balls, etc. etc. happen in boxing all the time.

          i.e. it's nothing new.

what IS new is one fighter pretending to hug another fighter, and then punching him in the face. and then punching him in the face again.

that is some **** you don't see everyday.

a fighter leaving his feet to deliver a intentional headbutt doesn't happen every day tho...

flipside you would be ignorant enough to call floyd out for bad sportsmanship when you support a fighter who tries to blatantly injury another with 2 illegal actions...

bottom line victor doesnt throw those illegal blows and the fight goes on and we wouldnt be debating this debacle....

            Yea ok.....

Mayweather wanted out of a tough fight.

Ortiz was wrong in headbutting him but he did so while both were fighting and within the time of the fight taking place. Floyd sucker punched Ortiz off a break, thats the big difference to me. Floyd should have sucker punched Ortiz while the fight was going on...and if that would have happened Ortiz would have never lowered his hands.

Floyd used the elbow a lot against Ortiz, and thats one reason Ortiz started with the headbutts.

No elbows would result in no headbutts.

lolwut? he could've fought on legitimately like he was supposed to, not pretend to hug someone and suckerpunch them when the ref wasn't looking

and the ref didn't say 'fight', if he did you can bet Victor wouldn't have gone in again to apologise or look at the ref when Floyd hit him the first time with the left.

Illegal violation is worse than legal retaliation.

                    Every time.

If Ortiz was confident, why was he trying to damage and weaken his opponent through illegal means?
