First of all let me state clearly that I am huge fan of both Floyd and Pacquiao, got nothing against Ortiz but I was rooting against him because I grew up watching Floyd move up in weight and it's exciting for me to see him in with big guys at 147. That being said I'm a little sour about that happened last night. I'm not saying it's Floyd's fault, if anything it's Ortiz fault for coming into the fight he dreamed about since age 9 and then start fouling before the mid-way point. I have an old school mentality on fouling, if someone fouls you in a non-friendly bout then you foul them back to let them know your not a doormat. Ortiz lost his cool on the big stage and then bout fell apart but even so, I'm not gonna be a punk and lay the blame game. The truth is I'm just mad cause it was exciting as hell, I got on here everyday reading threads and getting pumped up and it the fight didn't live up to the hype once again.
Ortiz lost control of his emotions, Floyd did what I'm sure as hell Jack Dempsey would do. There was some deception involved, but he waited until the ref motioned them together. I wanna give props to Floyd, and props for Ortiz for giving it a good shot and being respectful ( maybe too respectful even ) in defeat but as a boxing fan I wish I could've seen it end in much more "orthodox" way. I predicted Floyd would TKO on cuts in the last 3 rounds, and if the fight had continued the way it was going without the headbutting I probably would've been dead-on in my prediction
