    Well within the rules...but wrong??

If the ref hands the ball to the offense outta bounds and the defense isn't set, do you wait for them to get set before you in bound the ball in basketball? Does a hurry up offense in football wait until the defense has set before hiking the ball? Does the pitcher who notices a runner at first isn't paying attention wait before he's ready before throwing a pick off in baseball? Yet, when the ref calls time in and all the, as Merchant calls it..."ceremonies" after a foul has taken place are done...it's wrong to start fighting cause the other guy chooses not to protect him self? This is world is full of either haters or softees. This is a non issue. Yet, all these talking heads are saying Floyd is wrong for....wait for it....fighting within the rules. Just goes to show where this world is headed.

None of your comparisons are comparable at all...

There's a difference between rushing the defense and punching a guy immediately after he tries to apologize.

Except for the fact Ortiz already apologized, walked by and they both tapped gloves, and then he tried to hug him. The punch was within the rules, plan and simple. It's funny none of the boxers, except those harbored under the "I could be Floyd's next opponent" banner agree with the soft sentiment of you guys.

It's really sad where we are heading. When people explain the fight and say may cheated or he sucker punch.....how????? The ref took point off, put both in neutral corner and brought them together and said LET'S GO!!! and he did cortez did the 2nd most ******est thing. Then, ortiz did THE most ******est thing and committed and ultimate violation ALWAYS PROTECT YOURSELF and he got clocked........TWICE AND THATS ALL SHE WROTE.

Mayweather won. Period. There's no doubt about it.

My problem is the fashion of how he did it.

Many on here will say that if it was another fighter nobody would have had a problem and you're right. You're right, but not for the reasons you think.

I'm making an assumption based on my own personal feelings here, but a lot of us feel like Mayweather SHOULD be held to a higher standard. He's a great fighter, one of the best possibly. He personally makes the claim that he is the best all the time. This fight, along with ALL of his fights, was a chance for him to really showcase his skills and be a superior boxer. An elite, championship level boxer.

What happened looked like **** that would happen between rank amateurs, completely unprofessional.
