1.) "if you win a boxing match, you wanna win it with your skills, not with a suckerpunch".....
I simply cannot argue with that, good call. The problem is, Mayweather was winning the fight with his skills. What did you think of the "skills" that Ortiz used to cut Mayweathers mouth?
(Vic is my boy, Im just playing devils advocate here)
I agree with you that the right-hand was uncalled for, unsportsmanlike, and a cheap shot. But it was perfectly legal, and obviously in response to an earlier foul.
The word "scumbag" dont fit with anything here, except your already existing intense dislike for Mayweather.

It was a cheap shot, and completely uncalled for (the right hand, not the hook).
The point is, the fight finished in a controversial fashion unnecessarily.
I was disappointed in the finish, I wanted to see what would play out.
Mayweather did not need to take that shot, he was in control of the fight.
A legitimate contest would have been much more enjoyable.

Ortiz headbutt cut Mayweather in the mouth. Ortiz deserved everything he got and more. ANYONE who thrusts his head in an obviously deliberate manner like that, should be disqualified on the spot. If anyone here was a boxer and was cut in the mouth like that from a guy who wanted to hurt you illegally, you would do the same in the heat of the moment.

Mayweather COULD have fouled Ortiz and did NOT! He kept his head and did a smart, cunning thing. Especially since his opponent wanted to kiss and hug him after trying to hurt him outside the rules of boxing. I sure as hell condone what Mayweather did....what would you do with a cut in the mouth like that from a punk move by a guy you were fighting?Last edited by richardt; 09-20-2011, 12:04 AM.
