Fighters Who Would Have Done The Same Thing As Floyd

Which fighters past or present, if presented the opportunity to take a shot at his opponent with his hands down (under the same circumstances as in this fight) would have done it?

I got Ali, Hopkins, Toney...amongst MANY MANY others...

Would like to see others' opinions...

I don’t think Ali would have, he would have made his opponent pay by systematically breaking him down, embarrassing him with his superior skill and then top it off with the Ali-Shuffle.

I wouldn't put it past Ali, TBH. He often retaliated with dirty tactics when his opponents started it. For example, when Chuck Wepner was constantly rabbit punching Ali, he retaliated with some pretty vicious ones of his own. I've never seen anyone headbutt Ali and then try to hug and kiss him after. Who knows what would have happened.

It's tough to argue either way because of the fact that Victor leapt in the air, literally off of his feet to commit a foul...Blantant and clear as day...Had this NOT happened and the kid just wasn't paying attention and got KTFO, i would say that is a punk move...But he intentionally tried to bust the guy's face up with his head, What kind of soft ass forgiving sport do people think this is?!

Hardly any would, just the low class boxers:

          Andre Dirrell
          Zab Judah
          Mike Tyson
          Ricardo Mayorga

          etc. you know the type

right, Ali hit him like 20 times in a row in the back of the head that was awesome!

Listen I agree wholeheartedly, that was a b1tch move by Ortiz but Floyd has been fowled worse namely in the Judah fight and he finished that tirade with his superior skill and class. If he would have done the same in this fight (legal blow or not) there wouldn’t be such an uproar.

Couple this with the fact that Floyd was winning anyway and the more crisp/sharper blows was carrying him through the rounds.

I would've preferred Floyd to cool off a bit like he did against Zab, then just turned up the heat like Roy did against Montell Griffin in their 2nd fight. Ortiz was on his way to getting KO'd or stopped or saved from a serious beatdown. It was only a matter of time.

Last I checked your supposed to be ready at all times. I don't see many ppl saying why didn't Ortiz let Mayweather put his hands up before the butt. Ortiz saw an opening and tried to capitalize with an illegal blow. Mayweather saw an opening and capitalized with a legal blow. Poetic Justice
After Vic LEFT his feet to try his move I think sportsmanship went out the window.
