    i think the only time there should be touching of gloves is at the pre-fight instructions and at the start of the final round, as an actual rule of the sport. there's no need to apologize during a fight, the referee is there to determine whether it was an accident or intentional.

    definitely save the hugs and kisses for after the fight.

      It's refs than insist on all that touch gloves stuff, it's their way of trying to keep a clean, respectful fight.

        I agree, you tap once at the beginning under the ref's instruction and maybe again for the final round (although personally I don't think its necessary). You can be friendly after the fight is over, in the ring it should be war.

          Touching gloves after an accidental foul is ok, but that should be it, it can get excessive and out of line a la Shane Moseley and that is not something fans want to see
