First of the fight was really exciting it kept me on my feat and ofcourse Mayweather was outclassing him landing at will when he saw an opportunity. Round three was great as Money was throwing combinations and Victor was getting frustrated knowing he couldnt find Money. In the start of the 4th round Victor looked confused and was getting more frustrated that he couldnt land anything of significance.. Victor who is a known quitter was already frustrated and was looking for a way out of this fight so he used his head... Im sorry but he got what he deserved!! What an awefull way to end but Victor was a beat man before he laid on the canvas... I saw the same expression he had when Maidana made him quit!!!
Ortiz was a beat man before he laid on the canvas?

the 4th round was too short to say anyone was winning. what we do know is that Ortiz hit floyd with a good shot but couldnt hit floyd again, floyd went back to the ropes Vic got frustrated as a result and the rest is historyComment

There's probably something wrong with him... at the weigh-in he allows Floyd to grab his neck without ANY repurcussions & componds it by laughing to cover nervous energy.. Dude was in awe of Floyd & didn't think he was his peer. All his actions leading up to the sucker punch (Ortiz was literally a sucker).. he headbutts him & then goes seeks Floyd's approval to ensure everything is OK... the kiss on the cheek & the headbutt most probably enraged him & you could see how he's premeditating this when Ortiz is touching gloves with him... same as when Tyson bit Holy.
Why the hell did he come to touch gloves after he had already apologized for the headbutt a few seconds earlier. It was a cheap shot & not too many have mentioned this... he didn't give ortiz a chance to step back & create distance between them...he immediately threw the left a split second later.. obviously Ortiz wasn't expecting a punch to come his way... you're in the midst of sportsmanship... you acknowledged the touching of the gloves... it's a dirty thing to do & something that one would do in the streets... he put Ortiz at ease by the glove touching ONLY doing so to trick him into thinking there was no bad blood...
BOTTOM line... Ortiz did NOT have a chance to defend the first punch..everyone knows when one touches gloves... both boxers get into respective positions & fighting distance before they start throwing leather.. Ortiz was shocked by the first left & looked at the ref Joe Cortez to acknowledge the alleged foul committed by Floyd & instead of returning fire.. he did just like at the weighin choke incident.. did NOT RESPOND TO FLOYD'S AGGRESSION & FLoyd unloaded the right to finish him...
It was just as cowardly as when Tyson lost it & started chewing on Evander's ear..... both acts were a result of something they perceived the other fighter was doing in a dirty manner..& they had AN excuse to do what they did as that's what ALLOWED THEM TO COMMIT these cowardly acts because THESE WERE ACTS THAT WERE PREMEDITATED & MOST IMPORTANTLY THERE OPPONENTS HAD NO WAY OF DEFENDING IT BECAUSE IT WAS DONE WHEN BOTH hOLYFIELD & oRTIZ WERE STATIONARY IN CLOSE QUARTERS WHEN THERE GUARD WAS DOWN & THERE WAS A BREAK IN THE ACTION...
Tyson bit him both times when they were in a clinch & Holy had no way of knowing it was going to happen.. Ortiz did NOT know a punch was immediately coming his way right after he just touched gloves.. Floyd didn't even give him a chance to back off & THEN resume the action once they've created a certain distance between them.
The excuse of the overused & overhyped "Protect yourself at all times" IS just that.... One protects themselves when they feel some danger or incoming. When you're NOT expecting incoming is when you let your guard down..
Fighters are human too. Floyd.. cowardly took NOT one shot but the finishing second shot as well WHEN HE KNEW FULL WELL ORTIZ WAS NOT GOING TO BE DEFENDING HIMSELF... HE TOOK 2 FREE SHOTS ON HIM BASICALLY & IT WAS COWARDLY BECAUSE HE KNEW ORTIZ WAS IN NO POSITION TO DEFEND BECAUSE OF THE FACT THEY ACKNOWLEDGED GLOVES AS THAT WAS TO TRICK HIM SO HE WOULDN'T BE PREPARED FOR THE IMMEDIATE PREMEDITATED PUNCHES. If YOU REALLY WANTED TO GET HIM & GO TOE TO TOE... YOU WAIT TILL he gets into defensive posture.. AFTERALL it was ORTIZ who went over to MAYWEATHER.. just to touch the gloves.. he didn't go there to get hit..if he would;ve known he would've stayed in his corner..
Floyd has to give him the opportunity to get back to where he originally was before they touched gloves... he was in the process of backing up when he got hit..... I think it's definitely a foul.. why should it be a legal punch when your opponent is NOT expecting a punch at that instance.. anybody would've gotten knockedout under the same circumstances given Floyd's handspeed & how quick he can deliver a punch...
if this is ALLLOWABLE .. then every fighter will use such trickery & deception when touching gloves or off the break when both are tied up. Lennox Lewis.. USED a similar type of deception as he came out for rd 3 against Vitali.. HE CAME OUT NONCHALANTLY... after he was staggered in the previous rd with Vitali practically using him as a ping pong ball.. Vitali was caught off gUARD Not expecting Lewis to rush him with the overhand right...
This is a case of deception but legal as Vitali was in a position of defense when the punch was thrown even though he didn't expect the punch as Lewis intentionally put him off guard by changing gears as he was walking towards him (it was a brilliant strategy by LL that changed the fight right out of the 3rd gate) (not too many have made mention of this tactic) anyway Floyd knew Ortiz wasn't ready & threw the punches anyways... it's illegal & is a boxing crime comitted.. fighters NEED tO BE PROTECTED from that.. IT'S BOXING 101 NOT TO THROW THOSE PUNCHES.... BUT WE'RE LED TO ASSUME THAT THE FIGHTER FAILED TO PROTECT HIMSELF & THAT IS AT THE HEART OF IT... THOSE PUNCHES SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THROWN.... IT MIGHT NOT BE ILLEGAL ACCORDING TO THE BOXING RULES BUT IN NO WAY IS IT LEGAL.Comment

Nice post but, I am responding to the Mayweather didnt let ortiz get enough seperation. May did this same thing to mosley same combination lmao but, mosley who is well experienced only got hit with a right hand because he DEFENDED himself by blocking the left hook with his right hand. After may hit him with the left hook ortiz should have put his hands up. That was one of the first things I was taught in the amateurs. There's probably something wrong with him... at the weigh-in he allows Floyd to grab his neck without ANY repurcussions & componds it by laughing to cover nervous energy.. He was looking for acknowledgement from the ref that it was a dirty punch.. almost like he was saying "Mayweather..can i have another" dude just hit you.. focus on him.. It;s the mentality of ref..bail me out.. deduct a point from him now. Floyd got away with the left... the right he threw was an even cheaper shot as dude wasn't even looking his way.. Floyd basically couldn't control himself & this is NOT something to be commended.. it's part of why he behaves the way he does.. first punch should've been enough to get Ortiz's attention.... the second punch saw to it that he should be in the Hall Of Shame... you just don't do... that... the boy wasn't in any type of defensive readiness & awareness... you as a fighter have to resist & hold back... this is NOT the streets... even though you're fighting... there's a certain sportsmanship & etiquette you adhere to. Floyd did NOT accept his apology despite clearly acknowledging to Ortiz that he did. If you're NOT going to accept the apology.. then keep it ****ing real & don't accept it.Nice post but, I am responding to the Mayweather didnt let ortiz get enough seperation. May did this same thing to mosley same combination lmao but, mosley who is well experienced only got hit with a right hand because he DEFENDED himself by blocking the left hook with his right hand. Making it look to the other party that it's all good WHEN IT'S NOT.. is trickery.... this is still a sport & you're both getting paid millions.. why didn't you just show him the disdain by telling him to take the apology & shove it... No.. Floyd couldn't be upfront.. he had to resort to cowardice so he could get the desired result.
I'm sure..... there would be MUCH MORE OUTRAGE.. if this dude didn;t commit an intentional headbutt.. but since we live in a society where 2 wrongs ACTUALLY make it right.. Let's NOT twist this.... this was not revenge on Floyd's part... it was an excuse.. AT least with the headbutt.. Floyd was defending himself in full defensive posture... something Ortiz clearly didn't have the chance to do. This was no eye for an eye... any more than Tysons' excuse for biting Holy to get back for headbutts. This was premeditation of dirty fighters taking it to the streets with extreme retribution & payback in mind to a much lesser crime that was committed on them.Comment

What Floyd basically did was put Ortiz at ease..... let him think everything was good. Floyd knew exactly what he was doing... he'd be the first to tell you he took a freebie.. a cheap shot if you will.. that's ofcourse if he was being honest... but NO.. he's celebrating a knockout as if it were a legitimate one. Reminds of a murder mystery...where the killer states to you clearly.. he's not going to kill you but as soon as you turn your back he pulls the trigger.. Floyd committed a cowardly boxing crime here.. guys so let's not celebrate this W like there's no asterisk.... Ortiz is no saint.. he's probably a whack job in real life... the fact he was smiling when FM was holding his neck at the weigh-in & THEN LAUGHING IT OFF WHEN Floyd was in mERCHANT'S FACE right after he got ktfo clearly shows something is fake or not right with this dude. Doesn't make what Floyd did noble because he was dealing with a headcase... this is all about boxing principal.Comment

what you fail to see is this was provoked by ortiz. you dont provoke a street fight you arent prepared for..dont play with fire if you cant handle the fire. What Floyd basically did was put Ortiz at ease..... let him think everything was good. NOT.. A STREET FIGHT.. son. This is a sport... if it makes Mayweather think he's more of a man for hitting a person when he's defenseless.. so be it.. Why touch gloves with him & acknowledge the positive vibe there if you don't mean it...it's like FM lied to the kid in front of millions of people. Just because boxing rules say it's within the confines of the 3 minutes & the clock was ticking doesn't make it right as why couldn't you do that when his hands were up.....ummmmmmmm?..Comment
