Floyd is too great, too accomplished, too big a star in the sport of boxing to stoop down that low just to get an advantage and basically sucker punch ortiz. Every sport has unwritten rules that its participants know to follow and enforce themselves and in my opinion floyd broke it and it sort of cheapened and tainted is victory over ortiz. What's weird is that floyd has done this before with gatti and mosley, the same exact thing, yet he's a very clean fighter when it comes to headbutting or hitting below the belt.

Yes, it was a legal hit, but it was very unsportsmanlike, and not in the spirit of good competition. I was at a sports bar when it happened, and lets just say that the whole crowd was not very happy with floyd.

That was broken 7 headbutt attempts ago

Can't fight dirty then play kissyface. **** Ortiz and **** your ****** train of thought. If someone was trying to intentionally hurt me, repeatedly, you have another thing coming. Cortez warned him about the head like 3 times before that. Victor got what he deserved.

judging by the hurt i sense in your replies, you guys are floyd fans. are you guys proud of that knockout? can you honesty say that was good for the sport of boxing? a lot of patrons were very turned off by it.

ortiz is scum for headbutting wifebeater, but ortiz already got penalized for it... wifebeater didn't have to suckerpunch ortiz... that shows that wifebeater has no class or honor... both are lowlife scum

that's a bit too harsh dont you think? i know floyd has had his troubles with the law, ortiz might not be the most mentally strong fighter in the sport but he's far from a lowlife scum.

                They're both pretty scummy.

                Ortiz paid for his scumness

Floyd got rewarded with a W

I would agree, if... for example Ortiz had just accidentally low-blowed Floyd and tried to say sorry... but he did a blatant head butt, in front of the ref. There is no way he can complain if Floyd comes back with something dirty, but perfectly legal.

                  It's called a fight for a reason.

Ortiz made it dirty, and Floyd gave it back to him with interest. It's fair.
