Why Floyd did what he did.....

As for the KO.....its like this, It's like a team has the football with 30 seconds left and up by 25 and they fake knee then go deep for a td, yeah its legal, but its classless and shows no respect. What i noticed last night is what i had feared, Floyd while still quick did look more stationary, and not as fast as used to seeing him. I had the fight 3-1 Floyd up until that point, but some can make the case of 2-2. Either way, i saw an Ortiz that was starting to come on and maybe start his type of fight, but well never know. Though i strongly feel that Floyd KNEW DEEP DOWN, he had messed up and thats why he quickly said rematch if wanted.
So why the cheap KO, maybe it was because he started to feel the bigger mans punches (mainly body shots), and was looking for anyway to get out of there. I dont know and neither do ANY OF YOU, so we can only speculate. Floyd is a ticking time bomb, and its only a matter of time before Floyd self destructs. While there are only a handful of you on here that will defend Floyd NO MATTER WHAT HE DOES, i dont listen to yall as yall are such fan boys its comical. I love and repsect the sport and all of its attractions if its, Pac, Floyd, Amir, Gamboa, Donaire, ect....but im not gonna BS the story.
That's how I see it though. I really don't think people should cry foul on Ortiz's behalf when all of this transpired cause of his actions. A point was taken, and Floyd didn't need time to recuperate. It wasn't a low blow nor a head butt that cut him over the eye. Point deducted, instructions to keep it clean were given and the fight continued. Why Ortiz felt he had to keep apologizing is beyond me.Comment

I agree. Floyd was getting hit more than we are used to seeing and I think he was getting hit more than he imagined he would. That could be why he took the 2 shots instead of waiting. Its possible he wanted to end the fight while he knew he could rather than risk taking anymore punishment. Round 3 and the beginning of 4 was clearly Floyd but then Ortiz started to come on again and looked pretty good. I'm very dissapointed with the outcome. He likely would have won but I would rather have seen it in another way. Now we'll never know.Last edited by Brockton Lip; 09-18-2011, 01:17 PM.Comment

watching the ending again i agree with the people that say floyd didn't expect those two shots to end the night. i'm basing this off his body language while ortiz was trying to make the count. to me it looked like he was thinking "oh shit. this motherfucker ain't gonna make the count." and when cortez waved the fight off, mayweather calmly walked to the center and raised his hand. usually, floyd is more enthusiastic over a victory jumping on the rope, fake crying, and thanking god. he didn't do any of that this time.Comment

I don't agree with what he did, but it wasn't illegal. I put more of the blame on Ortiz. He initiated the dirty fight with his headbutts. He was aware Cortez timed in, and he went for a hug, which Floyd obliged. Anything after that, is all on Ortiz. He was just plain ******. You lose focus in this game for one second, somebody gets hurt.Comment
