He's not that good, they'll keep him away from Cotto or Margarito. Even a shot Cotto or Margarito put a beating on Canelo.

I've been saying for the longest time on here that I felt Chavez Jr. is better then Canelo and I'm standing by that. I feel Sebastian Zbik is a better win then anyone on Canelo's resume. Canelo keeps fighting midgets for christ sakes. If Gomez wasn't naturally smaller he probably would have won a decision last night.

honestly i feel margarito would have a lot of trouble with canelo.
i still think tony defeats him but only because of experience

I'm a fan of Gomez and I feel like he got a raw deal last night. IDK if Alvarez was 'carrying him' (as many posters here have stated) but on my scorecard Gomez was winning rounds and was right in this fight. He was outworking and out punching Alvarez and even though most of Gomez' punches were pitty pat, he was starting to land some hard crisp punches...

The referee pulled the plug way too soon here. Just because Canelo seemed to be loading up on, and unleashing, some big punches, you don't stop the fight because you think a guy might get KO'd. Gomez got hit with a good shot on the temple ( if I remember correctly) and was trying to recover the best he could by covering up. This is not the way a title fight, at that, should be decided..

I said the stoppage was too early too, until I saw the ref let go of Gomez and Gomez stumbled to the ropes losing his balance, he was out on his feet, looked premature, but I think it was right on time after seeing Gomez wobble after it was stopped.

I mean if you didn't notice Canelo trying to shoulder roll shots like Mayweather, and letting Gomez punch him at will, and you feel that's Canelo than you've never watched him box.

He was going for the homerun in every shot too. Canelo is doing right by finding his style and using decent opponents to find it with.

But Canelo needs to focus on a jab more and just let his hands go, his combination punching will be lethal when he starts getting used to it more.
this is exactly what he was doing in the fight. he honestly treated it like a sparring session. not a good look, but he obviously could'be tried harder if he wanted. gomez wasn't even responding to alvarez's punches too, and he wasn't looking to take a knee, a bit early stoppage though.

Let's talk about how he let Gomez have his 15 minutes of fame before he got bored and knocked his ass out.

Margarito uses Canelo to mop the floor.

The guy's only 21 he can still come good. He throwed some good combinations last night but was far too inactive on the ropes for me.
