Alvarez-Gomez was fixed

Anybody noticed how after a minute or so, which is about the time it takes for HBO execs to get the word around through the production team, all of the sudden Larry Merchant chimes in supporting that stoppage? Gomez was on his way to either win or draw Alvarez, and the fight was stopped when Gomez went to smother Alvarez punches!

Just another terrible ref. Gomez was starting to beat Canelo in there, but that looked like a legit combination that wobbled him. WHat we needed there was a good stoppage, and it was far from it.

It wasn't fixed it was just a early stoppage. Gomez was hurt by the punches but imo should have been allowed to continue.
