Floyd is a smart boxer.
Floyd is an evil genius.
Floyd saw something watching Victor fight Berto and that is Ortiz has a penchant for letting his guard down.
Back in the Maidana fight, Ortiz knowck down Maidana; Maidana recovers and
proceeds to knock Berto out.
Ortiz then fights Lamont Peterson and althought Ortiz wins early, Peterson ends up making it a game at the end.
In the Berto fight, Ortiz knocks down Berto early, but as the script goes, Berto comes back and ends up knocking Ortiz down as well.
Ortiz has historically let the opposition get to him especially when he has had the advantage.
Floyd saw this and let the *****fication begin...
Floyd knew Ortiz is fast, but Ortiz was vulnerable.
During the press conferences, Floyd started making Ortiz comfortable with physical contact. Did Ortiz put up his guard...NO.
Floyd started putting his face too close to Ortiz's mouth and at one point looked like he put Ortiz's nose in his mouth.
Personally, I don't know if any other boxer would let Floyd get away with that ****, but Ortiz did.
And Victor Ortiz started expecting it. Yet, he did nothing.
Floyd would TOUCH HIM and Ortiz got used to it let his guard down.
Ortiz even let Floyd put his hand on his gattdamn throat!!!
WTF??? What fighter would let another fighter grab his throat like that.
The *****fication was on....Victor got used to Floyd getting close to him but not hurt him.
So during the 4th round of the fight last night, Victor had just cornered Floyd with a barrage of punches, but then without any sense and probably out of weakminded frustration, he headbutts Floyd.
Old man Cortez proceeds to stop the fight and take a point off Ortiz. He tells the fighters to box on without resetting the timekeeper first. In fact, he was just doing exactly that when Ortiz, *****ficated from all the press conference physical contact from Floyd, tries to apologize and hug Mayweather for the second time, Floyd cold clocks Ortiz with a one-two.
Game over.
After the fight. Floyd grins.
