  • Did you know that jr promotions financed this fight?

..Do you really think, they will spend more than 10 million and not get what they want...when he predicted a KO, you should have put all your life savings the he wins by KO!

What isn't expected and not accepted are sucker punches. Specially the way Mayweather did it. He pretended to accept Ortiz's apology by reaching out touching gloves then hugging, then half step back and unload a 1-2. That was plain disgusting. Every other sucker punch I have ever seen resulted in a disqualification. Mayweather seems to get free passes because he's Mayweather. That will be a defining moment in his legacy.

After a foul, referrees always make the two fighters touch gloves, and if it isn't in the rule yet to make sure he separates the two properly after touching gloves, then it should be made in the rules. Will this be the new strategy for fighters, to try and get a quick one after touching gloves? That was just disgusting, something you would expect in a bar fight but not in the ring. The referees job is to protect both fighters, and it didn't happen in this case. They need to revisit the rules and make one and call it the Mayweather rule. But I guess they expected boxers to behave normally.

    • I don't get how it isnt obvious to everyone that he doesn't want the fight. If he wanted the fight this is what he would say:

"Now it's time for Pacquiao. We've written up the contract and given it to Bob Arum. If Pacquiao doesn't take the fight now then we all know what that means."

He didn't say anything close to that. The reality is he's only tried to actually make the fight happen once, almost two years ago. He hasn't wanted the fight since then.

....I actually wagered money for KO win by jr because he said it! it was a 100% guaranteed...but the way they end it was disgusting...hands downs and two power combination from the guy who couldn't KO Marquez! but thanks JR for the tip!!

          • Hatton was dominating at 140. Floyd beat him at 147, where Hatton had only fought once previously. Pacquiao destroyed Hatton at 140, his typical fighting weight.

Pacquiao skipped a weight class for the fight with Oscar. He was fighting at 130 for several years, fought Diaz at LW, then jumped to WW for the ODLH fight. Yeah, Oscar was drained for the fight, but Manny was coming up in weight and the underdog.

Floyd schooled Mosley after Mosley hadn't fought for 16 months! I thought Mosley was over the hill even before the fight. So, Mosley is truly one of Floyd's leftovers. But, [B]nobody[B] was impressed with Pacquiao's win over Mosley.

Floyd schooled JMM at WW, a weight that JMM had never fought at. There was a catchweight that [B]might[B] have made it a little more fair, but Floyd decided it would be safer to pay the fine than actually make weight.

Yeah, Manny has put on a lot of weight since he turned pro. But, he was a malnourished teenage living in poverty when he started boxing. You can easily add 30 pounds if you go from being malnourished to eating well. Add in some proper training, and does it surprise anyone that he'd be able to put on another 10-15 pounds?! This is a sport where guys can put on 10+ pounds in one night!

            • Does Floyd not realise that it's the fans that want him to fight Pacquiao not a bunch of writers. Fans are the ones who pay for you to live. Without fans you're nobody plain and simple. He pretends his money is his when in actuallity it's ours. lol. The guy would be a bum living in the streets of Grand Rapids if it was'nt for me and others alike. It's time to give your bosses what they want Floyd. I've been watching so much Pacquiao lately. The more I see the more I know Floyd can beat him easy. So just fight him the way it is. Does Floyd not realise that the fans want to see them at their best. They don't want to see a drained Pacquiao lose a one sided boxing match. I want him to fight the best Pacquiao. The Pacquiao that every other fighter has been willing to fight.

What you're saying is not true, so how true is the whole of it. If you had a memory, or actually saw the incident you would have heard and seen that Mosley said that he had a lonf dweferred vacation planned with his family, and he had a loose tooth that he ahs to have the dentist fix. He actually reached up and gripped his left front incisor.

He had just come off a very tough fight, I can't recall with whom, but he obviously needed time to relax and not start committing hmself to another tough fight.

That's basically what he was saying.

ortiz had already apologized to floyd moments after the incident....he hugged him and kissed him....there was no further need for hugging and kissing.....protect yourself at all times.....funny how ortiz was smiling moments after the fight......it is what it is......
