What a DISGRACE. I felt ripped off, I was actually enjoying the fight, as Mayweather seems to be fighting and not running. Headbutts and low blows happen all the time in boxing, points are deducted, and if the other guy is injured and can't continue disqualifications are meted out. Those are expected in boxing.

What isn't expected and not accepted are sucker punches. Specially the way Mayweather did it. He pretended to accept Ortiz's apology by reaching out touching gloves then hugging, then half step back and unload a 1-2. That was plain disgusting. Every other sucker punch I have ever seen resulted in a disqualification. Mayweather seems to get free passes because he's Mayweather. That will be a defining moment in his legacy.

After a foul, referrees always make the two fighters touch gloves, and if it isn't in the rule yet to make sure he separates the two properly after touching gloves, then it should be made in the rules. Will this be the new strategy for fighters, to try and get a quick one after touching gloves? That was just disgusting, something you would expect in a bar fight but not in the ring. The referees job is to protect both fighters, and it didn't happen in this case. They need to revisit the rules and make one and call it the Mayweather rule. But I guess they expected boxers to behave normally.

I don't get how it isnt obvious to everyone that he doesn't want the fight. If he wanted the fight this is what he would say:

"Now it's time for Pacquiao. We've written up the contract and given it to Bob Arum. If Pacquiao doesn't take the fight now then we all know what that means."

He didn't say anything close to that. The reality is he's only tried to actually make the fight happen once, almost two years ago. He hasn't wanted the fight since then.

Hatton was dominating at 140. Floyd beat him at 147, where Hatton had only fought once previously. Pacquiao destroyed Hatton at 140, his typical fighting weight.

Pacquiao skipped a weight class for the fight with Oscar. He was fighting at 130 for several years, fought Diaz at LW, then jumped to WW for the ODLH fight. Yeah, Oscar was drained for the fight, but Manny was coming up in weight and the underdog.

FYI larry, floyd asked to fight shane and oscar for years. in fact shane on hbo said he couldnt fight floyd because he had a tooth ache. bob arum would never sign to let floyd fight oscar. this is nothing new. but haters will never give floyd his props. and pac and roach openly avoided shane until he took bob arums money and did a swan dive in the fight vs pac. same with clottey, he couldnt miss and hit pac at will. but because he took bobs money he too did a greg louganis and took a dive. sad.

ortiz had already apologized to floyd moments after the incident....he hugged him and kissed him....there was no further need for hugging and kissing.....protect yourself at all times.....funny how ortiz was smiling moments after the fight......it is what it is......
