Proper way to do it: seperate the fighters, deduct points, time in and engaged the fight
Unproperway to do it: deduct point, engaged the fight, talk to the player, time in, and look away.

That is true, but don't you think the win is slightly tainted to the majority of the masses for the way it was won?
Oh, I believe Ortiz had maybe three more rounds in him before getting knocked out or stopped by his corner anyway.
He was not going to get his head in the fight.
Floyd took advantage of an obvious opening, but it looked cheap the way it played out.
I personally don't blame Floyd for that, but rather, Cortez, for doing things out of order...you check for the time, then you call the fighters to resume, not the other way around. This caused confusion, which opened up a big opportunity for Floyd, which he capitalized on.
The way the whole thing played out made the ending look cheap and unnecessarily opportunistic. But it was very legal.
Floyd won't get a proper shake for this win again. That's too bad, too because I truly believe that Floyd was on his way to an uncontroversial and definitive knockout win.

Ortiz is done, he quit again. Anyone can see he wanted out of there, why try roughing up Floyd and then go OTT on the kissing and making up? He got desperate, bottled it and then submitted to the stronger man. Yes Cortez was useless, yes floyd is a punk, but Floyd was going to win that fight sooner or later. Ortiz got what he deserved and wanted, he was glad it was over hence that ****** goofy looking smile on his face....If someone had fouled Pacquiao like that and Pacman ko'd them like Floyd did I think a lot of people would be singing a different tune.

Had Manny done the same thing I would be saying the same thing about him too.

Floyd's name will go down in history as one of the most controversial ever. And without question an ATG.
If he had won in the 10th via a tko, the masses wouldnt of even heard about it. This had made more headlines and got people talking. In a twisted way its exactly what boxing needs.
The better man won, and boxing once again separates itself from any other sport.
Pac and Floyd not fighting is whats killing the sport. But this kind of bizarre ending creates shock waves, which imo are good for the sport.

People are quick to point the finger at floyd money. Im glad that at least in this thread some of u are blaming Ortiz and Cortez.
I think a slight majority of the blame should go to Cortez. He didnt look like he knew what he was doing, I could see why Ortiz could be confused.
But at the same time, the rest of the blame has to go to Ortiz. Its as simple as protect yourself at all times, we saw what happened to Gatti. You gotta take advantage of whatever you can, its like cutting to the hoop in basketball when the person guarding you isnt really paying attention.
There was nothing wrong or unsportsmanlike with what Floyd did. He took advantage of his opponents and the referees ******ity, I would hope every other boxer would do the same. Like some of u already said, Ortiz wanted out of their anyways. He realized that Floyds defense was too much for him. He was attacking in an uncontrolled manner, headbuttin because he didnt know what else to do. He was simply outclassed
