It's sad this controversy will overshadow what a clinic Mayweather was showing.

Whether or not the clock was running was inconsequential. If you're a fighter and you just headbutted Mayweather and you start embacing him KNOWING HE HAS A HISTORY OF CLOCKING FIGHTERS OUT OF THE BREAK you don't act like a deer in the headlights like Ortiz did.

Like I said earlier, it was Ortiz's youth and naivety that did him in. After all the press conferences, 24/7's, private jet and limo rides, talking about his upbringing and how he was going to end Mayweather's career..the moment arrived and he couldn't keep his composure. He simply cracked under the spotlight...first with the headbutt, then with his bizarre reaction afterwards.

If the referee says "let's go," it's not the boxers job to look and see if the clock is running. Once Cortez said let's go, he could have punched him immediately, but he saw that Victor wanted to touch gloves and apologize again so he went over. How long did Victor expect the love fest to last??? It was time to fight.
