The fact remains that Floyd Mayweather was easily dominating Ortiz and as I knew all along, Ortiz couldn't block a right hand. Ortiz headbutted him out of frustration and Cortez took the point, correctly but then he messed up by not paying attention to the fight and started talking to Ortiz's corner, which is also to blame for distracting Cortez. Floyd Mayweather did what he does best, create controversy by hitting him while they were embracing as he did to Mosley in his last fight. What if the tables were turned? What if Mayweather threw the 'butt and Ortiz landed the "cheap shot?" Mayweathers ass-kissers, I mean entourage, would have stormed the ring and brawled ala Judah vs Mayweather. Tonight was a sham and the only real loser here is boxing. Mayweather is toxic for the sport and it will be a better sport when he's gone.

To add to that, I liked Victor Ortiz. I liked his fights, his story and was optimistic about his career and even this fight when I started to think Mayweather's punches weren't having that much effect and he was starting to gain momentum. For a second, I thought I was about to witness the biggest upset in recent memory but the intentional headbutt....let me rephrase- the most illegal headbutt I have ever seen overshadowed anything positive I had gained to wards him and am just as disappointed in him as I am Mayweather.

Now, boxing needs Pacquiao vs Matweather more than ever. Boxing lost a lot of fans tonight.

You can tell the people on here who just want to talk smack about Floyd and/or find something to criticize him on. Fact of the matter is that, it is clear as day and you hear it perfectly that Joe Cortez brought them together and said "LETS GO" . Joe Cortez was into the fight. Ortiz dropped the ball with the head butt. Bottomline is that Joe Cortez said "LETS GO". Should be end of debate

Not really especially,, when he is clearly not ready to start the fight up himself. He's not even looking at the fighters. Where is the box? Where is his clear call to the fighters to resume fighting?

It's started by Floyd saying "Just interview Ortiz because you never give me a fair shake". which is true.
Instead of leaving it alone Larry chose to let his ego overtake him because he was on TV and Floyd got understandable emotional and kept it 100%

watched that replay again. not only did they embrace after the butt, they touched gloves while cortez was deducting the point. then they touched gloves again after he said to fight. ortiz didn't need to go in for that 2nd hug. mayweather was fine with the 3rd apologetic sportsmanship maneuver (2nd touching of gloves) but he wasn't down for the 2nd hug, he was trying to push ortiz away.
