Ortiz quit. He shook his head at the ref signaling he didn't want to continue and has been known to do that a lot. As for the cut, it wasn't bad enough to want to stop the fight but he had a HUGE welt under one of his eyes. I think a combination of those injuries warranted a stoppage. No sense in getting even more beat up and possibly have permanent damage.
