Floyd retiring wouldn't be out of the question. He's made much, MUCH more than fighters who've been around longer, simply because he's a huge PPV attraction. At 34 with inactivity between fights, plus the fact that people tune in to see him lose his '0' means that if he loses, his ppv sales diminish drastically.

Everyone should be admit it, Floyd can never afford to lose because even if he makes a comeback after a loss (if it happens), he'll NEVER again be the PPV attraction he was because detractors will be content with that only night where he lost.

In short, his '0' is what sells fights. He loses that, I doubt he'll come back, given that his main motivation to fight is because of money.

EDIT: What pisses me off is that if he retires, people who don't follow the sport or anything will go on to say and market Ortiz as THE fighter to retire Mayweather. Psssshh!

Maaaaaaaaaaaaan, c'mon! Mayweather's had one foot out of the door since 2007. Of COURSE he's on the verge of retiring. I doubt he's going to go down the path of Holyfield, Toney, and Hopkins' of fighting all the way up his 40's.

depends on how he lose, if it is a Flash KO then he gets a Rematch, if he looks old and slower and feels he can't do it anymore then who knows maybe he would retire

I voted he retires, but I wonder if he can really afford it. The man has some expensive habits and taste.

                  no way he loses

                  but if he does
no way he can let all that money he could be making go down the drain

he'd still be a big draw and will be until he retires

                  after all

the only certainty with money is that you gotta pay taxes if you want to make it legally
and you can always spend it
