Pirog has a high boxing IQ. I think he's underrated on here, I think he is very capable of beating Martinez and Dibella knows this. Pirog can play chess while his opponent sticks with checkers.

But then again, at least Calzaghe didn't fight any of his fights at catch weights or bring up the notion.

No fighters at 154 and 160 is going to beat Sergio Martinez point blank. I'll bet points on each fight Martinez has from here on out that he will win everyone of them. Everybody is screaming Pirog but didn't homie struggle against a guy that can't even hold a candle to Sergio Martinez? I know people want Martinez to be some sort of cherry picker but that cat was the only fighter that moved up and down to get a fight on short notice and fought or won impressively. I don't see no one beating Martinez from 154 to 160. I'm not going to argue about it either. Whoever wants to bet then lets do it.

A while back, Dibella said the same thing on twitter. I asked him if he would give Pirog a shot if he beats Quillin. He said:
Maybe, if there's not a bigger fight out there...but there probably will be. Pirog means nothing here. Quillin would mean more.

it makes sense. pirog might actually have more of a claim to being the best middle not named sergio martinez, but he's still got a little more to prove. quillin's rezzey is eh. he needs pirog to legitimize his title hopes. i like it.

So beat the only guy willing to fight Martinez all year, that Dibella wouldn't accept as an opponent for Martinez, and you can fight Martinez... I don't honestly believe Martinez is ducking Pirog, but it makes you wonder why they don't want any part of an unbeaten fighter with a "major title", who has appeared on HBO PPV. Instead they fight Daren Barker, who the Brits may not even know, let alone the Americans
