if nothing else, it should be a good fight while it lasts. i think gomez has improved since the cotto fight. cotto was always better than alvarez too. no shame in getting stopped by prime cotto.

He has a decent shot but this is a "level" fight. As in you might be the best fighter in your neighborhood or even your part of town but then you fight someone who's damn near the best in the city and you see there are just different "levels" of fighters out there.

Gomez might ring Canelo's bell once or twice, but they chose him because he is a quasi name who has a good chin, exciting style, and little power.
