    according to a certain poster jabs are only good to create space.....i said differant and he called me dumb..even tho ive boxed for over half my life.but i thought id get others opinions

          Yep, a jab is for controlling distance, doesn't mean it's always creating more distance.

            how is that even possible? when you throw a jab you create distance seems kind of counterproductive

                Pacquiao does it all the time. You have to combine it with footwork. Pac is a master of throwing a lunging 1-2 which is set up by the jab

                  I set up all my shots behind the jab. set the jab, drop the straight right, dig to the body with the left.

                  People neglect the jab because they become too eager with their power shots.
