LOL! i was with my friend and he was flipping through hbo and 24/7 was on (he knows im a huge boxing fan) and i had to apologize because it was so embarrassing. we might as well have been watching big brother or something.
my whole beef with the 24/7 is that its an advertisement to sell the fight to you if you aren't a true fan of the sport. it tries to get you to feel emotions towards a certain fighter whether it's just them acting or not. hbo edits it to show you want they want you to see and what they think interests the common person.
on the other hand, i feel like the countdown is something to get you pumped for the fight because you already know you're gonna watch it and you're a fan of the SPORT.
i also prefer those super 6 boxing 360 or whatever its called over 24/7. i feel like it has more to do with the actual sport than the out of the ring drama. i like how they show the business side of the sport too with the promoter meetings and stuff.
sure the drama is funny and all but i feel like the sob story background info and family stuff (like on the contender) is just to get women interested in the fight.
but then again, i'm not your average consumer so my opinion should always be taken with caution on here
