Sugar Ray Leonard "Floyd's Achilles heel is his temple, not chin"

Did anybody catch that? They interviewed Sugar Ray Leonard on the 24-7 Overtime Live and he said he's pretty sure he's right that Floyd's weakness is his temple and that Ortiz should try to aim for that.

Floyd is a punk with little man's syndrome.....he won't fight manny because he can't force his will on manny....try choking pacquiao punk...I don't think you'd make it out alive.

That's ****** you hit anybody in the temple and they're in trouble not just Floyd. That is pretty dumb advice IMO.

LOL anyone that gets hit in the temple with a good shot will have his legs wobbled and be hurt.

Even with a facemask and 16 oz gloves I got hit with a left hook I never saw coming during sparring and I lost my balance while standing up.

I think what he should have said is things can be more effective there. THis is like bodyshots anyone can be hurt by a good one.

this is true. i have a very good chin but i been hit in the temple and got stunned.mayb this is what floyd sr was talking about. but if anyone remembers joan guzman knocking down funeka with a shot to the temple? and guzman isnt known for his power so this effects anyone really. lennox lewis said it also a good timed shot to the temple always has a good effect.

THat is not at all what he said

He said that Ortiz wont be hitting Floyd on the chin

Then he said that with age, he found that getting on the temple or the top of the head is the area that hurts a fighters easier.

He never said anything specific about Floyds weak spot being his temple

Leonard was of course referring to the shot that Mosley gave Floyd in the 2nd round when he went jelly legs. But something about the tone of voice and how SRL said it just made me think he was really on to something.

Yes he did, I clearly remember him saying something like "I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm right that the temple is Floyd's Achilles heel". You could be right on the first part though, I'ma have to watch it again.
