Its like arguing with a tree sometimes.

But sad that you can still find tickets on ticketmaster. Usually for any big event/concert ALL tickets are bought up by brokers in minutes or seconds.

The whole industry is corrupt and a scam to be honest, but what can you do when Brokers have custom programs or 500 indians clicking as soon as tix go on sale
the tickets were over priced from the get go compared to other boxing events so that doesn't really say much the thing that will tell you if this fight tanked are the actual gate revenue reported to Nevada state athletic commission

key point you should have looked for is BROKER in my reply

what I was trying to point out was the sharp decline in price the BROKERS have had to go through to get these seats sold

and ticketmaster.com just allowed me to purchase 8 seats in a row at the 2nd lowest price point.

now I can understand the pricier RS and lower level seats but th 300 level?

      this tanked
      Thanks for the correction.

so (I know you know what this means but I gotta explain it)

what that means is that if say GBP reports to NSAC that 15k tickets sold in essence GB could have paid the tariff on those 15k tickets and counted them as sold and then.........everyone.....count that as gate revenue
Are you serious? I thought they counted tickets sold against freebies?

I know a few small time promoters and they give away 50% or more of their tickets for free.

You telling me that GBP can just pay like 10$ on a $100 ticket and $100 will count to the gate?

Isnt that a little scammy? Since GBP can give away all the tickets for free and pay the tariff and then scam investors by saying "oh look how much gate we did".

I have a feeling like 20% of tickets were bought by fans, 30% by brokers, 25% by MGM to give away for free and 25% by GBP to give to fans/media/sponsors/friends/family/promoters/volunteers/industry folks, etc

very very few events are sold out anymore

I think it will sell out eventually but from what I have been told brokers are happy with the brisk sales of this event and looks like they won't be giving any of them back

Hey E do you really care so much? I dont remember reading this type of posts from you justifying the tickets sold for the pac margs fight??
who cares how they count it
point is its counted and the fighters make their money
who cares if they get bums off the blvd to fill the seat?
point is it will be packed and the tickets are coutned as sold

Secondary vendor market. Meaning, if stub hub or another vendor purchased tickets, those are still available. They jack up prices by many time what they got them for (not in the case of Mayweather-Ortiz as Eaner pointed out). There are ringside tickets selling for as much as $16,000 on stub hub for Pacquiao-Marquez. With the usual asian high rollers, aka whales, who go to Manny fights and drive up casino revenues, they should have no issue moving those tickets.

You can only get 1 ticket on ticketmaster (last time I checked) for the Pac fight, and it's only ringside.

That's what I have been told by a few people

gate is a very fluid term in Nevada.

why would they exaggerate the revenue? wouldn't that mean they will have to pay more on taxes fighters Purses and other fee's?

Sold out on Ticketmaster, but bought out by all the brokers who re-sell it.

Brokers are some of the biggest crooks and scammers in the business, they are shady as hell. You should see some big concerts, they use computer programs that auto-buy thousands of tickets or have 500 indians to spam the server as soon as tickets go on sale and they buy all of them up. Once they are bought they resell them for double or triple the price.

Ticketmaster trying to put Catchpa but they just hiring indians/cambodians/chinese to work for a dollar an hour to sit and click and make orders using pre-paid mastercards
