That's how you smartly fight coming forward. You fight at long range and still back your opponent down, and when he lung in, you can still time him with your longer reach advantage. It's call fighting tall even though Floyd was the shorter guy. You don't just come forward and fight at a close range when you opponent can easily reach you with his shorter reach or rotate around you with angle punches. You keep your distance and fight tall.

but that was not what floyd has promised though...he said he wwould stand in front of ortiz and he did at times but ortiz also backed him up and caught him on the ropes.....floyd did not control distance smoothly vs ortiz...

actually when oriz was on the attack ,he was doing great in landing his shots particulary the right hook followed by the left stright..it was a pretty basic 1-2 and he still hit floyd...but when ortiz hesitated was when floyd right hand found its target....
