I hate the idea of PPV. I have no problem with buying it myself but I just hate how much it narrows and limits Boxing's audience.

Boxing really needs to abandon this PPV ****. I know they are making mad money but they are not giving fights to the masses and are not building any future stars for the sport.

I agree Boxing would be a man sport if events like this where on ABC or NBC again. this would be shown on 30 million television and having young kids wanting to be boxer instead of other sportsmen.

i agree, yet people come on here and defend ppv's. like 'if you don't buy the ppv you're not helping the sport'...maybe if everyone stopped buying them they wouldn't be ppv. imagine if you had to buy a ppv everytime the red sox played the yankees or lakers played the celtics? if everyone keeps supporting ppv, it will just be a matter of time before all fights are on ppv

PPV is good for the fighters and promoters, bad for the sport.
Boxing is expensive, you have to at least have basic cable for the little fights, FNF,Top Rank Live, FNC etc. Then to see those fighters in good fights you have to have HBO Showtime, then for the really good/big fights 39.95-59.95 ppv.

I think they should re-run the big fights on network tv.

i always wonder what hbo and showtime do with their archive of fights. i dont have either channel anymore but i know for awhile showtime was showing replays of fights on sho2 or whatever on most weeknights. but it was all stuff from the last couple years. what are all the classic 80s and 90s fights doing? i think it would create even more interest in the sport to show some of that stuff. when i had hbo they would play the same movies every single day for what seemed like 3 months. but only show a boxing card 2-3 times?

There would be 30 min intermission breaks just for the commercials to pay for the telecast lol.
