Vitali took the fight on just 10 days notice.

Vitali was clearly winning the fight 4-2 on all 3 scorecards at the time of the controversial doctor stoppage. Lewis barely survived the 2nd round, he was badly hurt, holding on for dear life, wobbling everywhere and staggering around the ring like a drunk. Lewis was badly hurt several times in the fight and was getting outboxed, outworked, outmuscled and outlanded by Vitali.

About time LL showed some honesty about Vitali and gave him some praise. After defeating Vitali he was always a bit defensive about his performance against Vitali.

well thats because it was one of his worst performances. he came in after not fighting a year, two weeks notice, and weighed more than he ever did. yeah he got the win but it was an ugly one. it wasnt for those cuts lewis would definitely lost. but it makes you wonder how bad does that feel for klitschko to lose against lewis while he was in the worst shape of his career.
