I think Floyd in the first fight simply made the mistake of playing Castillo's game... at 130 Floyd was used to breaking the mexicans down... but Castillo was tougher... I still thought he has won even though it was close... fact is simply and that doesn't make it right or wrong but a judge will always count a punch to the head more then a body punch...

How some can call it a robbery I've never understood... if Castillo would have won by a round or a draw nobody could have said anything... but a robbery? Lara-Williams was a robbery... but Castillo-Mayweather no... the same like Marquez-Pacquiao was never a robbery... of course you can have Pac win the fight or Marquez by a slight margin... but there is no robbery...

I have watched it many times, and I think the general conclusion I come to personally is a draw, or castillo by 2 rounds (after point deductions). Even the 2nd fight I had 8-4 mayweather, which is pretty competitive for a mayweather fight. Castillo would always trouble floyd in my opinion. People have not fought mayweather the same way, castillo pressured with body shots, and also used foot pressure and countered mayweather by coming over the top with his right hand, or dipping under with a left uppercut or hook, he never let floyd get comfortable. Ricky Hatton tried this tactic, but he doesn't have that type of ability, ring IQ, or cuteness that a prime Castillo had, I really think Floyd would have been in big trouble against JC Chavez, as one of his disciples Castillo gave him so much trouble but was not in Chavez league, Floyd would have been in deep water against JCC. Everyone else is either too aggressive, too defensive, or don't have the ability to carry out the tactics in the first place. I have always thought that Cotto, Margarito, and now Pacquiao would give Mayweather the most trouble.

It is no coincidence that he has never fought any of them, he has a passable excuse though, because they are all arum fighters.

Tend to agree... but Cotto and Margarito aren't on JCC level either... Margarito doesn't have the footspeed - this is like the Baldomir fight when it comes to speed and timing... Margarito could never get to Floyd like Castillo did...

Cotto doesn't have it either... he has a good jab but he has no right hand and doesn't have the chin to take accurate punches for 12 rounds... look at the Pacquiao fight...

Pacquiao has a chance but he isn't JCC either... Pacquiao just brings speed, reflexes and a offensive pattern that is not easy to figure out... he comes from weird angles and with power... so he has a chance if Mayweather can't take his punch... but the Mosley fight made me very critical of Pacquiao's chances though... Mosley isn't physical as strong... isn't as sharp of a puncher and definitely doesn't have the footspeed of Mayweather... and Mosley ain't wanted to fight Pacquiao starting of the 4th round... and Pacquiao still couldn't really get to him... Mayweather gotten to Mosley at will in their fight... he couldn't knock it out but whenever Mayweather wanted to he got to Mosley... Pacquiao couldn't do that...

Mayweather's biggest strength is his mind... the years at 130 and also at the beginning of his time at 135 he almost only fought on physical ability... he learned from the first Castillo fight to use his head as well...

It's the same with Ray Leonard... pretty much till Duran he simply outfought everyone based on ability... after the first Duran fight which he lost because he ain't fought to his best abilities... he learned to use his head and frustrated Duran in his second fight... it's pretty much the same with Mayweather... how should you get to someone if he already knows what you are doing and where you going to end up going... Mayweather's biggest strength is his mind...

Pacquiao against Marquez is a good example... if you look at both fighters... there is nothing that says Marquez would have a chance against Pacquiao... he is slower, Pacquiao's reflexes are better... he is more powerful... and still Marquez gave him two pretty even matches... because Marquez out thinks Pacquiao and knows where he will be at... the timing of Marquez beats Pacquiao superior athletism and physical abilities... same with Hopkins and Pascal... so you look at Marquez and you see that Mayweather has everything that Marquez also has... and on top he is a good defensive fighter and as gifted physically as Pacquiao... I don't see Pacquiao beaten Mayweather with the exception if Mayweather can't take Pacquiao's punch and I tend to believe that Mayweather can take his punch...
