WRONG!
he did NOTHING for Mexicans.
Why do some of our people wear his face on their t-shirt like he's some great Chicano hero? Why not wear a tshirt of a real revolutionary who did help Mexicans, like Emiliano Zapata? is it because Che is so far away from Mexico, that he is a "safe" revolutionary symbol for do-nothing Chicanos to play with? Che did nothing for Chicanos, nothing for Mexicanos. He was instead preoccupied with Cuba and Bolivia. He risked his life for Cubans, not Mexicans. When he was killed, it was in Bolivia, not Mexico.
Contrast that with Emiliano Zapata who fought for Mexicans
led an army of Mexicans FOR Mexicans
and died in Mexico....
Today, Che has become a fantasy hero for many upper middle class Latin Americans. He is the fantasy they can indulge in and soothe their conscience. His face is now on tshirt, coffee mugs, and other commodities.
Che was a Communist (based on European ideology) and modern Marxism does not care one single shit for Indigenous people. Many Marxists are concerned only with their "economic utopia" and care very little for our people's real concerns. If Chicanos want to really talk about "revolution" and brag about a real revolutionary, they need to put on a Zapata t-shirt and drop the Argentine Che Guevara cult
