The funny thing is that if this is true and Floyd wipes the floor with him...you'll have clowns saying Ortiz was weight drained and that somehow Floyd knew this that's why Floyd challenged him at 47 instead of 54. Even tho it would make absolutely no sense there has to be an excuse or reason to discredit Floyd one way or another.

On a more serious note...Ortiz not making weigh in his 2nd fight at 47 would say a lot about his discipline imo.

This shows you don't know **** about training. You don't drop 7 lbs "with a good run" Even marathon runners don't drop that much weight.

I just love these couch potatoes commenting on training as if they know wtf they are talking about.

If that is the case, then the Title will be declared vacant!

Floydie also was overweight by 2 lbs when he fought Marquez!

he wasnt overweight by any official standards. only on the catchweight. its different officially. if ortiz comes over 147 hes officially overweight.

STFU...YOU don't know anything about training...I weigh myself before and after workouts and drop 7 pounds routinely. I have dropped 3-4 lbs afterwords in the sauna as well. Haven't you ever noticed the difference of the typical fighter from weigh-in to the unofficial weight the nite of the fight? It's often 10-12 lbs for that very reason. It's not that they suddenly get bigger over-nite...it's because they drop it in sweat the day of the weigh-in idiot...and rehydrate over-nite back to where they were. I've been a gym rat and personal trainer longer than you've been alive MORON.

              Here smart-ass...read this

Need to lose weight for a fight? We break down how to cut and make weight before your next weigh-in.

How to Cut and Make Weight

by Martin Rooney, MHS, PT, CSCS, NASM

Have any of you ever watched a weight class fight in which one fighter looks far bigger and heavier than the other even though they weighed exactly the same amount the day before?

Have you ever wondered how an athlete can lose 10-15 pounds in one day for a weigh in and then gain it all back for the fight with no ill effects?

              Fluid Restriction

The simplest and most effective way to begin the weight cutting process is to decrease or stop fluid intake. Your body is constantly losing fluid by breathing, sweating and urination. Every minute and hour that this goes by without replacing the fluid, you will lose weight. This process takes no extra energy from a fighter to complete, and you can lose up to 5-6 pounds in 24 hours without drinking.

              Sweating

The next most popular way to decrease weight before a weigh in is to sweat out fluid from the body. This can be done in a number of ways, and can take off 5-10 pounds of weight in a short period of time depending on the conditions. This is a great method because even if the athlete is already lean, there will still be fluid that can be lost.

In addition to exercise, athletes can also use a sauna or hot bath or shower to lose fluid as well. A dry sauna is the most powerful of the three for weight loss and this loss should be monitored. Time spent in the sauna or hot showers should be at small 15-30 minute intervals to check weight loss.

Dunno about all that man.....Lucien Bute can weigh in at 167 and come in a day later at 180 or so. How does that happen exactly, he remove an arm or something?
