Yup power isnt about the way someone's muscles are. Some doods just have punching power. I remember when i was younger, I one of m yfriends would hit me. It was totally different from when anyone else hit me. It felt liek his hands were made of granite.
Yeah, but Hearns and Arguello were notorious for catching people at the end of their punches where they had the most power.
Tito could punch equally as hard throwing compact ones.
I suppose I should be asking the same question about Diego Corrales.
diego corrales looks like someone that hits hard and he does hit hard. He is tall and lanky and is starting to grow into his body.
Corrales is more of a pure one shot KO artist then TITO
Corrales is able to throw a punch without much leverage and still KO another boxer
Tito on the other hand throws everything he has into that left hook of this. (Trinidad is my fav. fighter and I have always wondered how he hit so hard also)
All down to speed at impact. Many of the best fighters do no weights as muscle and bulk is a negative on speed. Tyson still had some pop when he was older but far less than when he was light and fast. Also with the speed comes greater accuracy. More likely to catch the right area with no impediment or turning with the punch.
The opposite is the sheer momentum of a wide flung heavyweight hook. Momentum and weight will knock you down and rattle you. I prefer a Tito knockout myself. Fast and beautiful.
