Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer advised BoxingScene.com that his company is still working on finalizing a junior middleweight collision between Alfredo Angulo (20-1, 17KOs) and James Kirkland (29-1, 26KOs). There is interest on both sides, but Schaefer has yet to finalize a financial agreement that would satisfy both sides. If a deal gets reached, the fight would take place on November 5th in Cancun, Mexico. HBO would televise.

schaefer, oscar - if you are reading this PLEASE PLEASE make this fight happen! Seriously this is a man's man of a boxing match. . . Obviously you gotta favor Angulo, but if Kirkland returns to form pre-federal prison - we got a ****ing WAR. . . I can literally see these two standing in the middle of the ring just bombing each other out for 6-8 rounds - whoever gives first - my guess is kirkland. . .

If both fighters didn't have multiple setbacks, this fight would've been a headline PPV. Now it easily has the potential to be an HBO or Showtime classic war!!!

why not make angulo - ishida fight , ishida KO'd kirkland in the first round . Japanese is a warrior and will travel to mexico for sure .
