I liked JMM a lot at CW and respected his accomplishments there, but like a lot of former CWs recently his campaign at heavy has been lacklustre and short. Unlike a lot of CWs however, his wins have been unconvincing at best, robberies at worst, and unlike Adamek or Haye he simply doesn't look like a real heavy, not even a small one. He was pumped up at even at CW, and now at heavy he resembles an over muscled version of James Toney, with about the same mobility.

Wlad doesn't really have any truly great names on his resume, but in recent years he's consistently fought as high a standard of fighter as has been available in the division. Only Rahman and Austin stick out as being truly unworthy challengers, though both were mandatories I think. The others were all either beltholders at the time, or had positioned themselves into a title shot through wins over other top twenty opponents. A fight against Mormeck would be a massive step down, even from the above mentioned two names.

If Wlad truly wants to stay busy, and there's nothing wrong with that, then he's got to pick the best fighters available, not just the ones who'd make him a bit of money and help him tap into a market. That's called having your cake and trying to eat it too. Or, less charitably, easy paydays. I can't speak for the rest of you but I hold Wlad to a higher standard than that.

And what's all this BS about Mormeck being the only fighter available? Both Cedric Boswell and Franklin Lawrence are established heavies with a good body of names on their resume, and are little known enough to make a fight with either one more than possible if Wlad wants it. They've both come off wins recently and I don't believe either one is injured and/or have any fights lined up in the near future. If Wlad took on both of them in quick succession sometime before this year ends I don't think anyone would have legitimate grounds for complaining. It keeps him sharp and gives two worthy fighters a shot at the heavyweight crown.

Those are just two names who are better choices than Mormeck.

So Tarver called Wlad out? that's a good fight considering the options. Tarver is a bigger name than Mormeck and comes close to HW size. He proved against Green he is still elite and at least he presents a small challenge to Wlad with his punching power.

Ustinov is a K2 fighter, they can make that fight in a a second, plus he is WBA #4. Wach, G. Jones, M. Grant are very attainable fights as well, they just want a nice number as payment.

Size wise Mormeck is a MW, the only thing HW-CW on him is his weight, he can't compete against Wlad, it will be awfull. Let him fight Povetkin first, if he wins that fight, then I'm Ok with him getting his beating. I can't believe France and french Tv do want to watch this mismatch, it'd be plain idiotic.
