Yeah right...now look at who they fought. Only 1 name on their respective lists stands out... Lennox Lewis and the fact that their greatest assets come from their genetics. I don't know what you think is exciting...but people are not exactly standing up and screaming with overwhelming excitement when they fight.
Do You Think Holyfield Or Toney Will Ever Get A Klitschko Fight?

just imagine the outcry if such fights happened.
I would think Povetkin will fight both Holyfield and Toney before either klitschko fight one of them..
On the other hand, the rumor is/was that Wlad will fight Mormeck so who the hell knows.Comment

Their opponents, Wlad's especially, have been on the whole pretty credible. And Vitali's fight with Sanders was a barnburner.Yeah right...now look at who they fought. Sanders totally lacked conditioning and skills. He HAD to fight with hands down because he didn't have enough energy to hold them up. He wouldn't have lasted 2 rounds against a prime Holyfield/Tyson/Bowe/Lewis/Holmes...he was a B fighter. He wouldn't have lasted with a Samual Peter either. The only A list fighter Wladimir fought was an over the hill Ray Mercer. Even Lamon Brewster who got lucky at the end of his fight and had tremendous heart...couldn't be called an A list fighter...even though he was a champion briefly.
Understand that I think they do what they do well...that is make the most of there towering size and win. I just can't get excited when I see it. I also acknowledge that hey are not ducking anyone...but that's in their era amazingly enough...that has not even had a single great heavyweight to duck. Sorry...David Haye and Tomasz Adamek will not be found in the Hall of Fame books 30 years from now...nobody will remember them in a few years. Tell me who either fought who were great with the exception of Lewis because Corrie Sanders doesn't cut it.
**edit**
I'll add one more thing...if the Klitschko's era had been 10-20 years ago...maybe they might have also had success against the era's then A list fighters...or maybe not and would have had some more losses on their records...but either way the fights would have proven much more of their legacies...and I think they would have been much more exciting fights. Vitali vs Lenox had me standing and screaming more than a few times. I just would have like to have seen more fights like that from them instead of none at all.Last edited by jaded; 09-14-2011, 12:01 AM.Comment

It's not that far fetched to me. If Holyfield beats Povetkin, why shouldn't he get a shot? Toney is about to fight Lebedev, and if he wins, why not? It's highly unlikely either of those scenarios come to fruition (especially Evander winning), but if they pulled it off they'd be as good of opponents as any other HW out there.Comment
