anyone else think that dawson looked exceptionally slow against pascal? I know pascal is a mover and "ambush fighter", but dawson just looked so plodding and slow to the punch. it almost looked like he wasn't even trying at all. that wasn't a good look for dawson at all.

Hopkins is a completely different style, but Hopkins is just so good. That's the only way I know how to describe Hopkins - he just always know what to do, and regardless of who his opponent is, he will make them look average.

Dawson didn't look slow because he still had fast hands. That was more of an off-fight for Dawson, because the fight was suppose to happen in April but delayed to August, so Dawson was coming off a long lay-off (8 months), he was rusty and didn't prepare properly.

Dawson even admitted he had personal issues with his family and his manager that effected his performance. He only trained 4 weeks for the bout. I'm not making any excuses for Dawson, but you can't say that's how he'll continually look. He will look much better and faster against Hopkins that's for sure. It doesn't matter how well Hopkins "adapts", there is nothing he can do against Dawson when he's fighting at his absolute best.

Just remember Dawson didn't looked like too good against Glen Johnson (in the first fight) but he looked like his old self against Antonio Tarver. Dawson was sharp accurate and was very good defensively against Tarver.

Dawson is a BEAST he's just mentally weak, either that or something was going on during his camp last year. Honestly he could've easily ko'd pascal whenever he wanted to, but for whatever reason he totally abandoned his amazing combo punching which makes him so great as well as just just not seizing certain opportunities. If dawson returns to his old self the only people that would even have a chance at beating him would be ward, even then I'd favor dawson.
