one problem is that this fight is years in the making and what's the problem with wanting a big fight hell its not like he's gonna get it he has to go threw 130 135 140 to 147 that's years in the making plus he's twenty seven the fight he should look for is Rios he's a big name closer to his size
Gamboa already running from Russel

During the interview, he also said that IF They think they are the best then, he would fight them in reference to a potential fight to Garcia or Russell Jr.
Either way, he isn't ducking anybody.Comment

Maybe you don't know Gamboa much but he certainly wasn't nearly as impressive as Russell is at the same time in his career. Infact Gamboa was a few punches away from becoming a never been in the sport of boxing in his first handful of fights. Dudes seen the mat more than Russel will probably see in his whole career. For real. Russel might not turn out as good as Gamboa but he certainly won't get floored as much.Comment

GR is a prospect, who just stepped up to fighting top 20-30 contenders, so Gamboa ducking him is ridiculous.
Gamboa has nothing to do at 126, except fight Chris John, Lopez before he loses a rematch to Salido, or Salido himself. Mikey Garcia won't be able to keep up and Robert
Gamboa's in the same predicament Donaire is, he has a few challengers in his division, but there's more interesting possibilities if he moves up. I'd prefer Gamboa to wait for Donaire, but if he's moving up and faces Rios on his way to Pacquiao, I'm all for it.Comment

Russell is a good fighter. But the guy is a prospect. Has he even had a 12 round fight yet? Gamboa is ducking nobody. I swear some boxing fans can't be satisfied. Gamboa has one fight in which he doesn't knock the guys head off and all of a sudden it's cuz he's not that good.
All I see now is "Garcia will beat him and Donaire will beat him." Based on what? That he couldn't beat De Leon with a savage KO? That doesn't mean ****. Gamboa was still winning this fight easily. He was really doing good in the last two rounds before the fight was stopped.
IMO Gamboa should stay at 126 for fights against JuanMa if he can beat Salido, maybe Garcia if they want to sacrifice him, and Donaire if he wants to move up in weight. Of those three Donaire has the best chance to win. But I'm not betting on that one until I see how he looks at 126 against a solid opponent. After that Gamboa should move up. But he should forget about Pac. At 130 there is Broner, 135 there is Rios, 140 there is Khan. There are all kinds of top fighters on the road to Pac. By the time Gamboa were to be finished with those fights Pac would probably be finished with boxing.Comment

Gamboa should try fighting at Lightweight or at least Junior Welter before trying to call out a WW.Comment
