  • Is Gamboa a dirty fighter?

Im abig fan of his and when i say dirty i dont really mean sneaky low blows or elbows i mean hitting guys when they are down ala Salido and Victor Barrios when he went down, hitting after the bell ala Salido and now im watching the Ponce fight and in round 4 just as the ref is seperating Ponce and himself Gamboa punches Ponce in the face. Its worrying to see this because like against Salido refs will take points off him and against the elite fighters it could cost him

He punched Ponce in the face, cause Ponce had got him with punch below the belt a few seconds earlier. But he's nowhere the elite dirty fighters.

well he's not as dirty as abner mares that's for sure. and he does seem apologetic when he gets out of hand. i think it's just more of gamboa getting caught in the moment.

I understand that but the thing is why do something so obvious as to just punch him right in the face right in front of the ref.Dirty is probably the wrong wrong maybe just a tad bit undisciplined because these things he does are so obvious to the ref.Just like he did against Salido he punched Barros when he went down

I guess as a fighter, they don't want to take cheap shots, regardless of the circumstances.
