Is that why Lennox is generally regarded as a better all time heavyweight than Tyson?

    LMFAO @ bolded portion.

Stick to your Pacman threads.....for your own safety.
I heard that they sparred for the Olympic trials as amateurs and Tyson beat him once. That's just what I've heard, though. Lewis told his trainer that he was studying Tyson, so to speak.

I heard they sparred twice....when they both were trained by Cus D'amato.

I heard Lennox knocked him out when they were kids and teenagers.

Nice summary. Too bad you missed a few Lewis wins - like say Golota (when he was a monster), Michael Grant (when he was undefeated), Tua (when he was 37-1), and V Klit (the consensus current best HW). Tyson had a better career? Ha! The only that should be better is your memory.

            LOL.

Have you even seen this fight Junior?

That's the WEAKEST comment I've heard all week.

Lewis went toe to toe with Mercer, it was one of the best fights of that year, and it could have gone either way.

Saying Mercer owned him is a joke.

It's clear you were 8 years old when that fight happened, and I doubt you've even seen it when you make an ignorant comment like that.

Why would Lewis be considered better than Tyson? Maybe because he won the biggest fights of his career beating every fighter he ever faced, where Tyson LOST the biggest fights of his career and NEVER showed the ability to make adjustments and overcome adversity in fights he was losing.

It's a matter of opinion, but your comment about the Lewis Mercer fight is an absolute joke.

            Grow up.

Its really as simple as that.

I dont understand why people have horse blinders on. If someone thinks Tyson is a better fighter....their opinion is based on aesthetic approval, and not necessarily fact.

Lewis defeated every fighter he ever faced. Tyson on the other hand, never defeated anyone in a rematch.

And people say: "Oh well......Lewis...he lost to Rahman and McCall"

Tyson lost to an even bigger bum....in James "Buster" Douglas.

Douglas may have been a bum the rest of his career, but he wasn't that night. And honestly, how can you actually claim McCall as a win, he didn't fight! Spare me from the technicalities, That was not true revenge lol

All three judges had Lewis ahead on the scorecards, and he virtually was winning every round up untill the time of the stoppage in the 5th.

McCall was frustrated by Lewis' arsenal, and the fact he could not knock him out with a lucky punch like he did the first time.

He began to cry, lay on the ropes, make negative body gestures......meanwhile Lewis was potshotting him.

No Mas! No Mas!. Same identical situation without the tears.

                  boo hoo.

That fight is also the true testament to McCall's chin, becuase in the last two rounds, he ate some unbelieveable shots without any atempt at blocking them.

Lewis turned down a Mercer rematch at a chance to avenge his loss to McCall, and it's not his fault McCall lost it.

He wanted to revenge his loss, and he did with the only chance he got.
