Floyd can counter you and still be on balance and in position to defend himself. Can JMM do that? JMM is an aggressive counter puncher who will keep the pressure on you the moment he catches you, but sometimes it doesn't work against everyone(JMM-Manny).

That was actually pretty sad.. the old slower bloated Light weight had to be the agressor because floyd was unwilling ..despite all of his advantages..
It made floyd look bad imo.

But anyways , I think floyd is the better single punch counter puncher
While Jmm throws better combo counters.

Marquez and Mayweather shouldn't even be in the same conversation. Mayweather completely outclassed Marquez and made him look ridiculous. And yeah, I know Floyd came in 2 lbs heavier...even though they were only 5 lbs different the night of the fight...but anyone who doesnt completely hate floyd or have a mancrush on Marquez can see Floyd is simply in another league.

Marquez has much more ways to counter wheras floyd really only has two but they are extremely well planned.

Countering doesn't just involve responding to a punch... Mayweather has countered fighters in numerous ways. Just because there's only two trademark counters he's known for doesn't mean that's all that he has. It's the fact that it's all he usually needs because the opponents he's fought are stumped once he finds out what works.

Did you watch the Mosley and Judah fight? Counter-punching involves setting traps. Don't get me wrong, Marquez is an outstanding counter-puncher, but Mayweather is landslides ahead.

well, a counter-combo is more affective than a one-shot pot-shot counter, so marquez, esspecially since marquez will counter a larger variety of punches

Marquez IMO, Floyd is really good but he relies a lot on reflexes where as JMM does everything with a texhnical mentality. They're both good but Marquez is the more technical knowledgeable one considering he does the same with all sorts of competition regardless of his disadvantages against an oponent, not taking anything away from Floyd though
