Steward can't work with just anyone. It takes a determined and patient person like Lewis or Wladimir to be able to implement his tactics in the ring to full extent. He is rightfully regarded as a great trainer but even a great trainer can have his mistakes, and Steward's work with the likes of Hamed, Taylor, Cintron and now Dawson definitely ended in disaster.

Mental midgets don't put boxing clinics on Adamek, Johnson and Tarver.

That is nonsense. Wladimir and Prince Naseem never did everything that Manny instructed them during training.

Chad Dawson is not a fighter who brings in any significant pay day and therefore he is in no position to make decisions regarding training arrangements. Manny will not be doing this to Cotto or Wladimir PERIOD.

Great post, man. Gives some perspective to the whole situation. On the face of it, splitting from Steward does sound like a terrible decision but Chad did look confused against Dianconu with Steward in his corner. Maybe a return to the guy who started it off in Scully might be the thing he needs.

                    Dawson will win.

But let's say he loses, it would be because Hopkins was just the better man. A trainer is no excuse.

But with Dawson's skill, he doesn't need to be reminded what to do in the ring. He knows exactly what to do, and when to do it. He just took Pascal lightly. When he fights like he did against Johnson II, both Tarver fights, Adamek, when he fights like that, determined and knows he's fighting really good fighters, he will give it his all. He knows very well that he's gonna have to give it his all against Hopkins and I don't think this will be a close fight. Dawson will win a pretty clear decision. To me, changing trainers will be no excuse if he loses. The trainer can do so much, but he can't fight for you in the ring, that's your job.

Manny kept talking about Chad and Hearns like he should emulate him or something and that just isn't what he's going to excel at Chad doesn't have crazy 1 punch power he's a volume puncher with fast hands and combos having him try to set down and look for KOs didn't seem to be the best way to go about things.

Don't forget how bad the Taylor arrangement worked out, this is questionable so close to the fight but if he feels more comfortable so be it.

Scully is knowledgable and a fine trainer when it comes down to it Chad is the one who has to want it and go in the ring and perform not his trainer.
