Comments Thread For: Jamie Cox Grabs Commonwealth Belt in Lackluster Win

Hilton Hotel, Mayfair, London - Junior middleweight Jamie Cox (16-0, 9KOs) won a controversial twelve round decision over Obodai Sai (15-1, 10KOs) to capture the Commonwealth title. The scores were 114-113, 114-112 and 115-113. Sai appeared to win the majority of the contest by outboxing and landing more accurate punches during the action. To make matters worse, Cox was still managed to win despite being penalized two points in the contest for repeated low blows. The points were taken in the fifth and twelfth rounds. Cox suffered cuts above both eyes.

This is possibly the most shocking robbery i've ever seen, Cox caught the guy with about 15 low blows and somehow only got two points taken away from him, that dumb, biased ref also refused to disqualify him even after the warnings, plus Sai was murdering him for the last six rounds and they STILL gave Cox the win? honestly tonight has confirmed to me that England is just as bad as Germany when it comes to home decisions, the writing was on the wall in the Dirrell vs Froch fight and this just took things to a whole new level, i hope the boxing authorities intervene here because it was an absolute disgrace from start to finish.

Why am I not surprised to see Ian John Lewis as one of the "Judges" This clown is the biggest idiot, he's kind of like the UK Version of Joe Cortez. Just a pure ****** who doesnt know his head from his ass. Yet he is always judging and reffing the fights (sometimes at the same time)

        http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?hum...1459&cat=judge

Look at the judging, they all judge the same fights in the UK. What a horse BS. Look at all the times that 2 of these judges appear together:

        Richard James
        Davies Ian John-Lewis
        Marcus McDonnell

              cox is garbage

30 lowblows yet only 2 points deducted! what a joke

he should have been disqualified atleast 10 different times in the fight

              the ref makes me sick

you could tell just how much it meant to Sai. seeing those tears just made me more angry

Just watched the fight, Cox should have been DQ'd clearly, this result gives a bad name to UK officials. Hopefully Sai will get another fight on a decent bill, Cox will surely get knocked out once he faces a decent puncher.
