  • Comments Thread For: Maidana vs Petrov in Play For September 23rd Clash

According to members of his team, junior welterweight Petr Petrov (29-2-2, 13 KOs) has been selected as the opponent of Marcos Maidana for his homecoming fight on September 23rd at the Sociedad Alemana de Villa Ballester in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Petrov has never been stopped as a pro and his last defeat came in 2002, by decision, to Vitali Tajbert. Since that loss, he won thirteen straight fights.

      Never heard of him.

On BoxRec it says that he is a lightweight and from the looks of it, he seems a soft puncher. His resume is very weak.

Now that Matthysse has pulled out from the Morales fight, I don't see why Maidana can't step in.

And please don't give me that Maidana was training for a southpaw bull**** because:

            1. Maidana is incredibly ******. His brains are almost nonexistant, meaning that his ring IQ is extremely low.

            2. This bum Petrov is an orthodox fighter as well.

            Old featherweight got Maidana shook.

I'd love to see Maidana step up to the plate but given that he turned a rematch down before I don't think he will . Hopefully GBP will offer him a good $ amount and get it done.

Maidana ain't gonna step in. He is too much of a diva and will ask for more money. Maidana is the opposite of a warrior, he is a woman (Yeah, **** you Lorily).

We can only hope that gbp

Yeah Morales-Maidana II would be explosive. How is fighting a bum better than fighting live on the best card of the year? These 2 have met before, nothing to hide ...
I don't think Morales will want to fight a bum at this stage of his career, tbh. I could see him pulling out unless someone like Maidana steps in.
